The new architecture was highly successful in supporting multiple interface layers; to date, we have implemented both graphical and character-based user interfaces. We are in the process of analyzing voice response interfaces and feel it will be accommodated fairly easily.
The centralized architecture is highly secure and is extremely easy to administer. In comparison to traditional client-server architecture, application performance is improved, hardware and network load are reduced, distribution and maintenance costs are lowered, and security is increased by using "light client" client-server architecture.
